A Maseno University lecturer was found unconscious along with his girlfriend in the lecturer’s office.
In what is suspected to be a failed suicide attempt, the lecturer and the lady said to be from a nursing home in Kisumu made way to the lecturer’s office on the fifth floor of the Varsity Plaza building.
Later, when a security guard was doing rounds, he found the two unconscious, the lecturer on his chair and the lady on the floor with foam coming from their mouths. He alerted the police who took the couple to the Maseno Clinic and after first aid and resuscitation they refused further attention from a better equipped hospital.
The police along with the university though its spokesman say the matter is still under investigations especially after a syringe and unnamed drugs suspected to be what the two injected themselves with were found at the scene.
