If Lupita coughs, she makes headlines on news outlets across the globe. But do you know there is a Kenyan actor who made it to Hollywood before Lupita and has starred in a number of blockbusters yet the world isn’t really interested in his whereabouts?
The world is so unfair. I mean Lupita starred in one Hollywood movie, 12 Years a Slave, and she won an Oscar yet big names like Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, John Travolta, Will Smith, Mark Wahberg and our very own Edi Gathegi, are yet to bag an Oscar.
So far, Lupita has only featured in 4 high profile Hollywood movies; 12 Years a Slave(2013), Non-Stop (2014), Star Wars: The Force Awakens (to be released in December 2015) and The Jungle Book (to be released in 2016).
On his part, Edi Gathegi has starred in more than 10 Hollywood movies namely; The Fifth Patient (2007), Death Sentence (2007), Twilight (2008), The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009), X-Men: First Class (2011), The Blacklist season 3 (2015), among many others.
Edi is also playing a gangster named Marques in John Travolta’s new mob movie dubbed ‘Criminal Activities’ which will be released on November 20th 2015.
The Kenyan actor has also starred in a movied dubbed ‘Transformation Awaits’ which is yet to be released.
