We first heard Avril got engaged to her South African soulmate in November last year. If you are keen you will realize we are in November 2015 and Avril hasn’t been married yet. So What’s happening?
Word had it that Avril was supposed to exchange vows mid this year; that was the talk in November 2014 when news broke Judith Nyambura Mwangi aka Avril was engaged to a South African man.
Months have since passed and the only signs of a possible wedding we saw was Avril donning a wedding gown sparking speculations she was about to wed the in the next second.
Well, the singer has since come out to reveal why she hasn’t walked down the aisle yet. In a chat with Citizen Radio’s Mzazi Willy Tuva, Avril says her parents are still conducting background checks on her South African fiancé.

Avril: Hahahaha… Next year. Next year. Tumejaribu kupanga vitu hapa na kule unajua most of the time harusi ni ya wazazi. So wazazi wakikubaliana, wakishaamua, wakishamaliza introduction zao yani kujuana. Of course kama wewe ni mzazi pia una watoto wakishafika ile miaka ya kupropose or so to speak lazima utafanya ile background check yako. Huwezi taka tu kumrusha mtoto wako kwa familia yotote. So bado kuna background checks zinafanyika.
