A day after it was discovered President Mugabe made defamatory
comments towards the Kenyan public, an online onslaught against
Zimbabweans was launched.
Uncle Bob was framed for a making an itchy statement on Kenyans and this sparked a fierce Twitter war.
Kenyans fired salvos at Zimbabweans without verifying Mugabe’s alleged defamatory remark. It was The Spectator that published an article saying Mugabe referred to Kenyans as ‘Wizards in stealing.’ (Now we now all know the Zimbabwean President didn’t insult Kenyans.)
But The Spectator didn’t start the tag #KenyansVsZimbabweans. Josiah Mutai (@Josiah_Mutai) was the first person who used the tag to fire at Zimbabweans.
Josiah is known to have a knack for starting and being involved in online feuds. His timeline is full of ‘negative energy’ towards different entities.
It’s unfortunate that Kenyans jumped on his tag to maul Zimbabweans for a crime they didn’t commit. But then again Kenyans love tweefs, once a tag is trending everybody flows with it.
