Award winning Investigative journalist Mohammed Ali, is never one to mince words. He is one to take the road less travelled amid the risks and ramifications.
He also goes beyond the duty ascribed by his employer to state things from a citizen’s point of view a quality shared by very few other journalists. Several weeks ago he penned a letter to decrying the sycophancy and poor leadership exhibited by the likes of Moses Kuria and Kipchumba Murkomen. This time round, he has decided to reach someone he terms as an old friend, the Deputy President, William Samoei Ruto.
Unlike the previous scathing letter, this is an honest assessment taking the DP down the journey to find when the rains started beating him. It’s advisory tone paints a brutal reality of things as they stand and will no doubt be echoing through the corridors of power for sometime. That is if the inhabitants of such hallowed places still use their ears.
The letter begins with the following;

Hujambo bwana kusema na kutenda. Naomba safari hii kabla hujatenda nikujulishe mawili hivi. Najua huna raha, hupati usingizi na unahofia maisha yako licha ya utajiri uliyonayo. Leo hii umejipata kubanwa na uliowaamini. Ndoa za haraka na tama zina shida bwana Ruto. Ukipenda viazi usiogope mimba ndio msemo wetu kule vilima vya raha. Ndoa yako na Uhuru Kenyatta imefikia kiwango cha mtu mmoja kati yenu kupata mimba. Si mimba ya mtoto bali mimba ya machungu na kusalitiana. Miaka ya nyuma kabla ya wewe kuwa HUSTLER wa kizazi kipya niliwahi kukutembelea mara kwa mara katika afisi zako katika jumba la Transnational. Tulizungumza na kutaniana na hata kuzungumza kwa simu.
