Lancome pretty much made our Lupita famous as well as putting a fat wad of crisp notes in her bank account- If you can remember, a few months back Lupita was unveiled by Lancome as the face of their brand.
Françoise Lehmann, General Manager of Lancôme International, said the company's decision to tap Lupita was because she is "talented and committed, true to her African beauty, and showing a great curiosity and open-mindedness in her career choices." [sic]
The more reason that Lancome has found its way to the Kenyan market, in the belief that from whence came Lupita, there was bound to be more beauty. Lancome stores are already in major malls, Thika Road's garden city for example, where they had a launch weeks ago.
The official launch was last evening at the French Ambassador's residence. and was attended by the who-is-who of the Kenyan fashion industry, most notably were Fashion bloggers, Sharon Mundia (of thisisess) Joy Kendi (our style Kenya) and Patricia Kihoro of HBR.
